Welcome to Nile Girl's Forum

NILE GIRLS FORUM is women led organization focusing on uplifting the plight of girls and women with emphasis on mentorship, skills enhancement, and sexual reproductive health and rights awareness and prevention. We target a cross section of 10 to 25 year old females in and out of school across Uganda. We design programs, activities and campaigns that put adolescent girls at the forefront of their growth and societal change. We work within hard to reach schools and communities. Through innovative ways, we engage females to capture and highlight their voices in our activities and programming. NGF is a registered with Uganda Registration Services Bureau registration number 80020000663444 as a company limited by guarantee and as a non-governmental organization National Bureau of NGOs registration number INDR13714727NB and permitted to operate as an organization permit number INDP000727NB since February 2018

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
As the case with many developing countries, the girl child in Uganda is growing up in a world more challenging than ever before, with Nile Girls Forum every effort counts towards eventually eradicating various predicaments of the girl child. 7.3 million Ugandans are aged 15 to 24 years, 4.5 million youth are unemployed. 32.9 percent are aged 10 to 24 years, 25 percent have begun child bearing, 19 percent have given birth, 5 percent health centers provide youth friendly sexual reproductive health services.

WHERE WE WORK
We continue to expand our reach to more parts of Uganda seeking to empower adolescent girls across communities. We hope to reach out to all districts across Uganda. So far, we have reached out to three districts in west Nile sub region and lango sub region .

NILE GIRLS FORUM AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
With 193 governments coming together to agree a common framework to tackle 17 major world issues by 2030, engagement from girls and women is seen as critical to help achieve the United nations 2030 agenda. Specific sustainable development goals have been outlined around quality education 4, gender equality 5, good health and wellbeing, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure As outlined in the goal 17, partnerships for the goals, urgent action is needed to mobilize, redirect and unlock the transformative power of trillions of dollars of private resources to deliver on sustainable development. We intend to reach 1 million girls by 2030. .
